Yes, plastic, non woven and bio carry bags have flat bottom, yet if we put any material inside, it will give expansion to accommodate the material.

How this happen with these carry bags? Initially we also considered the flexibility of material gives expansion, then we took non woven w cut bags in to consideration, because it is more than 100 to 120 gsm which is rigid like paper , then how that also makes flexibility to accommodate material?

When the width of the material is 100%, then the gusset of the same should be between 60% to 70% from width. For example if width is 10 inches, then the gusset should be 6 inches to 7 inches, then the carry bag can easily accommodate any square or rectangle shaped material.

In 1883, Charles Stilwell patented a machine that made square-bottom paper bags with pleated sides, making them easier to fold and store. This style of bag came to be known as the S.O.S., or “Self-Opening Sack”. SOS bags have been a favourite for those many years for its ability to stand and easily be filled.

In 1912, Walter Deubener, a grocer in Saint Paul, Minnesota, used cord to reinforce paper bags and add carrying handles. These “Deubener Shopping Bags” could carry up to 75 pounds at a time, and became quite popular, selling over a million bags a year by 1915. Paper bags with handles later became the standard for department stores, and were often printed with the store’s logo or brand colours.

All are western counties inventor invented these type square bottom paper bags. In western countries especially food and eatable items, they will purchase and sit any where to eat, in that time to hold the items they require the bag should be stand still.
